A building with an area of approximately 1600 m2 and a height of 43.5 m has been constructed in the vicinity of the Dairy Production Plant in Mrągowo. This is where a modern factory of milk powders is being built.
”The construction works are progressing dynamically. The walls of the first stage of the building, where the dryers would be installed, were completed by the end of March. At the same time, a raw material reception hall with an area of approx. 1000m2 was erected. During winter months there were made steel reinforcements and benches/foundation slabs for production buildings with a total area of approx. 6,600m2, using nearly 3,500m3 of concrete mixtures. Also, the ground for production buildings was strengthened by the DSM column method. Nearly 500 base supporting columns were installed,” informs Jerzy Michałek, Deputy Director of Production and Technology at the SM MLEKPOL’s Dairy Production Plant in Mrągowo.
The walls of the buildings are made of reinforced concrete with the use of sliding formwork technology, which allows for working fast and obtaining high quality smooth wall surfaces. It is planned that the buildings will be made available for assembly of technological equipment in October 2017. As part of the project, three sets of inter-connected buildings will be constructed:
– a building with drying facilities for dairy products with a maximum height of 43.5m and a footprint area of approx. 3100m2,
– a building for raw material reception and raw material preliminary processing with a maximum height of 10.5m and a footprint area of approx. 3500m2,
– a warehouse building with a maximum height of 14.5m and a footprint area of approx. 12000m2.
The investment cost of the new powder plant is estimated to be approx. PLN 400m with the planned capacity of 3 million litres of milk and whey per day. The most modern powder plant in Poland will produce e.g. high purity whey proteins and baby food products and most likely will employ 160 people.
The contractor of the construction part is Budimex, whereas the technology is to be provided by GEA. The planned launch of the Production Plant of Powdered Dairy Products in Mrągowo will take place in 2018/19.
The Production Plant of Powdered Dairy Products is being constructed in the vicinity of the SM MLEKPOL’s Dairy Production Plant in Mragowo that produces, e.g. Mrągowska Buttermilk, appreciated by consumers, and Milko, the brand of fermented yoghurt drinks.
